Can I Have Botox and Fillers in the Same Office Visit?

Botox and fillers In Westchester County

Botox and dermal fillers: You often hear the two in the same breath, but they’re quite different. At Greenwald Plastic Surgery, our renowned board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Joshua Greenwald, understands that many patients want to rejuvenate their appearance and look younger without surgery.

To meet those needs, we offer Botox and fillers in our NYC, Westchester County, and Fairfield County offices.

One of the most common questions about Botox and fillers is how (and if) they can work together. This blog answers that question and tells you more about each treatment.

Understanding Botox and Fillers

Botox and dermal fillers are the leading nonsurgical cosmetic treatments available today. Both aim to enhance your appearance, but they work differently.

Botox is a neurotoxin that slows muscle movement in key areas. This minimizes wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead, crow’s feet, and between the eyebrows.

Botox works well for fine lines and wrinkles caused by muscle movement (dynamic wrinkles). But it doesn’t add volume, so it’s not a good fit for static wrinkles — the deeper wrinkles and facial folds, like nasolabial lines (laugh lines surrounding the nose and mouth).

That’s where fillers can help. Dermal fillers come from naturally occurring substances like hyaluronic acid, which draws water and adds volume beneath the skin.

It can temporarily restore lost volume in the nasolabial folds, cheeks, lips, and other areas.

Can They Work Together?

The answer is a resounding yes. Botox and fillers work well together; many patients have both treatments in the same visit. Both are temporary, with Botox lasting up to six months and fillers lasting from 6-24 months. Many patients have Botox and fillers on the same maintenance schedule.

Benefits of Combining Botox and Fillers

Combining Botox and fillers in one office visit provides comprehensive nonsurgical facial rejuvenation. Benefits include:

  • Time efficiency: Having both treatments simultaneously saves time, giving you the desired results without multiple appointments.
  • Immediate results: Botox quickly improves dynamic wrinkles, while fillers offer immediate volume and contour.
  • Customizable treatment: Before your treatment, we evaluate your facial anatomy, discuss your goals, and develop a customized approach. This helps ensure that your procedures complement each other.
  • Cost-effective: Combining treatments may be more cost-effective than scheduling separate visits.

Although many patients have Botox and fillers simultaneously, we’re always happy to do touch-ups of one or the other based on your unique needs.
